Squash TM 2.0 is now available!

Updated: Feb 10, 2022

The new version of Squash TM is now available, experience a brand new interface with Squash TM 2.0

Squash TM 2.0 is now available for download.

This new version displays a brand new interface, more modern and based on the Angular technology. Beyond this graphic redesign, Squash TM 2.0 offers ergonomic evolutions as well as improvements on the app’s existing features. It should be easy for you nonetheless to get your bearings and maintain your working habits. Squash’s philosophy remains the same; its ergonomics are simply more intuitive than ever before.

Discover Squash TM 2.0’s main new features below.

For the complete list of evolutions and corrections, please refer to the release note for this version.

Improved navigation

  • Anchor system within consultation pages

A new anchor system allows you to navigate within objects. This system allows you to navigate to a block within the same page or in a new page. When you navigate from one object to another, the anchor that was last opened appears, making it easier to mass consult data.

Some anchors contain a numerical indicator that gives the user quick access to information on the consulted object (for a requirement: number of linked test cases, linked requirements, known issues).

View your requirements with a completely new, more readable and ergonomic Requirements space on Squash TM 2.0

  • Accessing an object via its URL

You can now directly access an object via its URL. You can therefore add folders, dashboards, or execution plans to your favorites to have easy access to them.

  • State of tables during a navigation to a level 2 page now preserved

When you navigate to the second level of an object’s page, the state of the tables is preserved (pagination, sorting, filters). Therefore, when you navigate from an execution plan to an execution and back, you land on the right page, with your filters and sortings intact.

Quick view of the state of the repository

In the libraries, icons next to every object allow you to have a global overview of the state of the repository.

From the test case library, you can thus quickly view and identify test cases according to their importance, nature, status, linked requirements, and the presence of test steps.

Manage your test cases with a redesigned interface for easier reading with Squash TM 2.0

You can also easily access this information within consultation pages:

  • Main attributes are always displayed in the pill tags at the top of the page;

  • Content and links can be viewed via numerical indicators next to the anchors.

Linking objects is faster and more intuitive thanks to drag-and-drop

Linking objects (requirements to test cases, adding test cases to execution plans, etc.) is now faster and more intuitive.

You can directly link objects from an object’s consultation page using drag-and-drop without having to use the linking interface anymore.

The association of your test cases is simplified with the new execution plan on Squash TM 2.0

Generally, you can use drag-and-drop for a lot of different actions, making them smoother and more intuitive: adding attachments, reorganizing objects, creating reporting elements…

New interface for managing tests and executions steps

Prerequisites and test steps are now grouped within a same page.

Test steps are displayed in distinct blocks, which improves readibility and optimizes the space dedicated to step description. In test case calls, you can now view called test cases steps without having to leave the page.

Write the requirements of your test steps in the new Squash TM 2.0 interface

This display is used for executions. Thus, viewing the status of steps is better and executing from this page easier.

In the execution area of Squash TM 2.0, find all the execution scenarios of your test

A more ergonomic and dynamic search function

The search function has been enhanced to be more ergonomic. Criteria and search results now appear on the same page. Results update themselves dynamically. Thus, you can view your search results as you add criteria.

The search perimeter was also increased. You can now make a search from your selected items in the library (project, folder, group of objects).

Find your test cases quickly with Squash TM 2.0's search function

When you access the search function via dashboards, the search criteria are now prefilled. This allows you to refine or expand your search.

New interface for the creation of custom graphs

The interface for the creation of custom graphs has been fully redesigned and simplified. It now allows you to view the evolution of your graph gradually as you build it.

You can now create a graph from one single screen without having to follow any required order. This screen is divided into three parts:

  • On the left: elements allowing you to build the graph (select perimeter, type of graph, managing axes and filters;

  • On the right: list of attributes for the graph’s axes and filters using drag-and-drop ;

  • In the center : overview of the graph that appears whenever you change the axes and dynamically evolves whenever you modify one of the graph’s elements.

In Squash TM 2.0, create detailed graphs to report on the steps of your testing process

Redesign of the Administration Workspace

The Administration Workspace was redesigned to make it easier to navigate and access its different elements. Several similar elements are now regrouped in sub-menus: fields and custom lists, bugtrackers and automatization servers, etc.

You can access these sub-menus directly from the main navigation bar. The Administration Workspace has its own navigation bar with the same sub-menus.

Within this workspace, navigating between objects is more fluid: only one click is required to go from one project’s configuration page to another’s.
