These new versions provide the automation engineer who writes tests in Java with an API (implemented in the Java Param Library) to access parameter values (dataset, custom field) defined in Squash TM.

Squash AUTOM and Squash DEVOPS now support the definition of hooks that allow to configure custom actions to be performed before and/or after a given action launched by the Squash orchestrator. These hooks can be defined either in a PEaC file to be applied to the corresponding workflow, or in a configuration file of a provider (component performing actions driven by the orchestrator) to be applied to all workflows.
These hooks are very versatile. Use cases are :
Attaching generated files other than those usually created by the test technology. For example, Squash AUTOM and Squash DEVOPS handle Surefire format files created by JUnit tests, but if an automator creates JPEG screenshots in JUnit tests, they will be ignored by default. It is now possible to create a hook to tell the orchestrator to also retrieve these JPEG files and import them into Squash TM.
Start and stop a service needed for testing
Audit the start and end of the test execution

All the components of Squash AUTOM and Squash DEVOPS can be downloaded from our Download page.
As a reminder, Squash AUTOM and Squash DEVOPS releases are monthly (except August). The 2021-10 version will be available mid-October. It will allow Squash DEVOPS users to stop having an orchestrator running all the time, they will be able to start and stop it in a step of the continuous integration pipeline.
Each version is made up of a set of components with their own version numbers, which can be found on our Downloads page or in the Release notes by version: https://autom-devops-en.doc.squashtest.com/2021-09/release-note/release-note-by-version.html. GPGP
